Your Listing Inventory Doesn’t Have to Disappear on Realtor.com
On November 16, the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) announced to its membership that “as of December 18, 2017, realtor.com will no longer receive listing data directly from GLVAR.”
The decades long policy of displaying MLS listings from a direct feed in the Las Vegas area on the industry’s second most visited real estate website will end unless the parties come to an agreement. The policy change will not prevent real estate firms from continuing to provide data to realtor.com if the brokerage chooses to authorize the distribution of the data.
Neil Walter, CEO for ERA Brokers commented “Allowing real estate firms to determine where and how listing data is displayed in the public space is a move in the right direction for the industry. We feel realtor.com is an excellent resource for buyers, sellers, agents, and the public as a whole. We will continue to distribute data to realtor.com and support the home finding process there.”
Matt Walter, CTO added, “We have a great relationship with realtor.com and appreciate working with them. They provide great exposure for our listing clients and they make the home finding process easier for buyers, that’s why we upgrade all of our listings on Realtor.com. When you see an ERA Brokers listing there, you will find the agent name and rich content, like Matterport 3D home tours, available on the site. We look forward to millions of buyers seeing our listing inventory hosted on realtor.com in 2018.”
ERA Brokers announced to its agents on November 16th that the GLVAR policy change would not negatively impact ERA Brokers listings or its clients.
