On July 19-20, over 300 people affiliated with ERA came to the Lucky 7 Ranch in Hatch, Utah for a weekend full of fun. The party kicked off on Friday afternoon with bounce houses, bb guns, and ATV tours. Immediately following dinner, Black Cat Parade, a local band, performed their original songs and covered a few classics.
Additionally, two new events were introduced: the boot race and the Lucky 7 Ranch Ultimate Cowboy Showdown. They proved to be the highlight of the night.
The boot race was a tough competition. Levi Heap from Ogden won and was awarded a one of a kind, Lucky 7 Ranch Boot Race buckle.
The Ultimate Cowboy Showdown is a three part relay event. The first teammate throws 3 hula hoops over the roping dummy, the second teammate hits a can with a rubber band gun, and the third teammate runs a barrel pattern with a stick horse. Over 20 teams signed up for the Ultimate Cowboy Showdown and every single participant gave it their all.
Once again, it was a close competition. The last team to make their run ended up being the grand champions. Each winner was awarded a custom Ultimate Cowboy Showdown belt buckle. Congrats to Ryder, Taya, and Jeremy!
The night ended with an epic after party with DJ Dynamo 373 (also known as Matt Walter). There was an abundance of glow sticks and s’mores; everyone had a blast.
