Home prices in Washington County are up 6% compared with 2011. There are 12% fewer homes for sale as the inventory of homes available for sale continues to fall. Sellers are offering fewer concessions to buyers as the market shifted from a buyer’s market to a seller’s market in 2012. The average days on market for 2012 was 81 days and it was 72 days for the month of December. Prices are expected to continue to rise in 2013 as housing demand continues to outstrip supply. Residential building permits for Washington County in 2012 were 1,146 compared with 887 in 2011, a 29% increase.
