Las Vegas, NV – The Nevada Association of Real Estate Brokers, the local chapter for the oldest minority trade organization, lead by its Western Regional Vice President, Shanta Patton, hosted a real estate disruption conference in Las Vegas. The event featured representatives from some of the largest, best funded firms innovating in real estate including Zillow, Offerpad, Opendoor, and PurpleBricks.
The event featured discussion about changing business models, consumer preferences, transaction costs, and service offerings. Attendees learned how to work with the panel member firms and what kinds of products and services they offer to clients.
While most see the competitive landscape changing and a limited number of transactions being split among more sales professionals, some see the opportunity presented by making real estate transactions smoother, faster, and less expensive as an opportunity to facilitate more transaction activity. Many industries that have seen faster, less expensive transactions produce an increase in overall transaction activity.
Conference participants were able to learn first hand what is motivating the fundraising and business model innovation of the featured firms. Most came away with a better sense of how to work together in future and a better respect for the decision making and motivation of the firms.
