The Assistance League of Southern Utah held their Annual Spring Benefit, raising a total of $38,000! The event took place at the Hilton Garden Inn, offering an elegant evening of dinner and live entertainment and none the less it was a huge success!

Every year, The ALSU hosts a gala in support of raising money to help underprivileged children in Southern Utah Schools.

This year, Susan Jarvis, Senior Sales Associate at ERA Brokers Consolidated St. George, and Becky Staples with Sun American Mortgage, were honored to be ALSU’s first ever Corporate Sponsors!

Susan said “The gala was nothing short of AMAZING! ALSU is making a significant impact in the lives of children and their families by assisting with physical and literacy needs.”

Every year, The TC Team in the ERA Brokers St. George Branch hosts Breakfast and Photos with Santa for their clients and the St. George Community. This year went off without a hitch as they served dozens of people by bringing a little joy into their lives. With the help of Santa himself and some of his elves, everyone was able to get their photo taken, tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, and eat a delicious breakfast too!

Tammy and Chris stated “Our pictures and breakfast with Santa event turned out so well this year. We had more people come than we ever had, and it filled us with joy seeing so many smiles on the children’s faces. We were able to make so many great connections, and meet new people which was awesome! We do this annually and love it! If anyone hasn’t been able to attend, we welcome all and look forward to doing it again next year”.

For the 5th year, the Zion Canyon Rotary Club, the Hurricane Valley Rotary Club, local businesses, and the town of Springdale have found children and families who need a little help to have wonderful holiday experience.  They call it “The Giving Tree”. The families are identified  by school administrators and local religious leaders. The senior citizens in town help make “ornaments” and families are contacted to get a list of their children’s sizes, wants and needs. This year they helped 38 families, 90 kids.

April Gates, a prominent Realtor and founding member of the Zion Canyon Rotary Club, explains the process: “I give every child a number and make them 2 ornaments, one for clothing, one for gifts.  Volunteers in the community then “adopt’ them. As the volunteers shop for the kids, they bring back their gifts and ornaments and we have a wrapping party. It’s a great day! The towns of Rockville and Springdale also do a toy drive at their town Christmas party and all of those toys go to the children as well. It takes a village!!

The Washington County Women’s Council of Realtors hosted a charity Golf Tournament, Supporting Girls on The Run of Southern Utah, raising a total of $1753.00!  The event took place at Coral Canyon Golf Course, where sponsors and Golfers came out to offer their support and donations toward the cause.

Girls on The Run Southern Utah is a program designed to help girls overcome issues such as: body image, negative self-talk, resisting peer pressure, gratitude, gossip, nutrition, substance abuse, making healthy decisions, and contributing to the community.

Last month in the ERA Brokers St. George Branch, Jeni Miller 2019 President Elect, along with The Women’s Council presented Michelle Cloud, Board Chair of Girls on the Run with the check.

Jeni stated “We do our Charity Golf Tournament once a year and it was a pleasure to help support Girls on The Run! We are looking forward to doing this again next year!”

On September 14, 2018, Beverly Whipple, a top producing agent in the Hurricane Valley went over the edge, literally.

Beverly rappelled off the top of the Hyatt Hotel in St. George to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Southern Utah.

Over the Edge is an adventure experience company with a passion for positive impact.

They believe in challenging non-profits, corporates, and individuals to step outside their comfort zones for the betterment of themselves and their communities. They specialize in hosting Urban Adventure fundraisers for non-profit organizations.

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah is committed to provided safe, decent, affordable housing for qualified low-income families who would otherwise not be able to buy a home.

Beverly received tons of support from her ERA Team, friends and family in exceeding her goal of raising $1,000 to support Habitat for Humanity.

Beverly said, “Going Over the Edge for Habitat for Humanity was a once in a lifetime, amazing experience where I was able to promote all the goodness that Habitat stands for in our community.  Besides, who else can say they got to rappel off the side of a building?!”

Habitat for Humanity had a huge turnout at the Over the Edge event.  In total, they raised $30,000 in a single day.

Every Second Tuesday of every month, Desert Diva Dogs hosts “Pins for Paws” a bowling fundraiser benefiting animal rescues.

On July 10, 2018, Donna Schneider, a top producing agent in the ERA Las Vegas office, and fellow realtors at ERA Brokers Consolidated celebrated a great night supporting and raising money for her favorite charity, The Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Nevada (GRRSN). The organization provides a rescue program for abandoned, mistreated, or unwanted golden retrievers. GRRSN does not breed or sell animals.

The organization was established in 2003 becoming a non-profit all volunteer organization that has rescued over 3,000 Golden Retrievers and many other dogs in need. Donna, who is a proud foster dog owner of 3 goldens; is also a supporter and volunteer to help foster displaced dogs until they find a “forever home”. Donna’s first rescue was 12 years ago and is equivalent to how long she has personally been a part of the organization.

All monies raised went to the rescue to help off-set the medical costs that include spay and neuter for incoming goldens who are now in need of a forever home.

Donna says “My heart breaks a little more each time I see the face of a golden who gets dropped off or rescued from a bad breeder who are just lost souls and want and need love and a home—it’s incredible to know that my efforts along with so many other volunteers throughout the year help these “kids” find a family—it’s a blessing for sure!”

The GRRSN helps dogs get transported from shelters into their facility who does not have a brick and mortar shelter. Volunteers are needed to foster the dogs while waiting for a home or while healing an illness that the GRRSN provides medical care for. Volunteers also help with the process applications for prospective families, evaluation of the prospective families and the safety of their homes—and the list goes on and on.

GRRSN has never had to turn away any dog in need for any reason, and that is in part due to the numerous fundraisers that are held.

ERA Brokers continues to take reality television by storm! HGTV features more ERA agents on their hit television show “Flip or Flip Las Vegas.”

On May 10, 2018 Flip or Flop Las Vegas featured “Rustic Cabin Dream Home” along with ERA Brokers Las Vegas Agent Socorro Chavez-Herrera. The stars of the show, Bristol and Aubrey Marunde tackle a home in an older Las Vegas, NV neighborhood that’s full of ’90s features.  A pine tree in the front yard and the living room’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace remind Bristol of growing up in the Pacific Northwest, giving him a bold idea for the design theme.

Socorro said, “It was so much fun! It was an amazing experience, and I would definitely do this again for sure.
What an incredible opportunity be on the show and be seen by the masses.”

One week later, on May 17, 2018 Season 2, episode 10 “A Historic Mess” featured ERA Brokers Executive Vice President Fafie Moore and Luxury Specialist Tanya Murray. This episode transforms Tanya’s listing in Boulder City.  Aubrey and Bristol choose a cottage theme for the 1940s built home that turns into a modern, sunny charmer.

Fafie said, “I had a great time being on the show. The home turned out beautifully and it was a wonderful experience working with the HGTV team.”

Tanya added, “Flip or Flop Las Vegas was fantastic and a pleasure to be part of the show! Aubrey and Bristol were awesome to work with and I would recommend the experience to anyone who gets the opportunity.”

On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Sky Mountain Golf Course, the Hurricane High School Booster Club hosted their 2018 Annual HHS Booster Club Golf Tournament.

Every year, the Booster Club hosts a fundraiser to raise money in support of the Athletics department to fund events and activities throughout the year. Under the guidance of Robbie Eliso, Darren Prince, Micah Gubler, along with an incredible number of volunteers from the community including sponsors, there were approximately 150 golfers ready to support the school.

Jake Peart, a top producing agent in the ERA Brokers Hurricane office, was the Premier Sponsor for the event. Jake has three sons who play sports at the High School and he is also a proud supporter of the community.  When asked about the event, Jake commented,

“Hurricane is an outstanding community where the people care about one another and do great things to support one another. The event was tons of fun!  You should come next year!”
