St. George, Utah, November 5, 2013 – Carol Sapp, Executive Officer of the Southern Utah Home Builders Association (SUHBA) has announced her retirement effective December 3, 2013, after 25 years of service at SUHBA. Sapp was honored for her dedicated service and outstanding leadership at the SUHBA General Membership Luncheon on November 5, 2013, where the announcement was made of her retirement by 2013 SUHBA President, Austin Anderson.  SUHBA members also celebrated 25 years of the association making a positive impact in the community and throughout the building industry.

“We have greatly appreciated Carol’s efforts over the past 25 years,” said Anderson. “She has been an outstanding leader dedicated to the local building industry and has made a positive impact in our community.”  The SUHBA Board of Directors expresses their sincere appreciation to Sapp for her years of service, dedication, and leadership.

Carol Sapp has made the following statement in reference to her upcoming retirement. “Over the last 25 years, I have had the opportunity to work with 24 Presidents and twelve boards as they lead the association through good economic times and bad. My takeaway is great memories of those who have supported all aspects of SUHBA over the years. We have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars through advocacy, built a medical clinic, and a home for an amazing disabled young lady. Working to begin and coordinate the finest Parade of Homes was been unbelievable,” said Sapp. “It is impossible to mention all the many individuals I have had the honor to work with and those who have served with me as staff. They are wonderful leaders in their own right.”

SUHBA President, Austin Anderson also announced Mari Smith will replace Sapp as Executive Officer. Mari has been with SUHBA for over 13 years and has been very involved in all aspects of the Association. “I am honored to be extended this position from the Board of Directors and excited about the future of SUHBA and the local building industry,” replied Smith. Sapp has been a mentor for many years and has involved Smith in all aspects of the SUHBA management so this will be a seamless transition. “Words cannot express how much we will miss Carol and we want to thank her for all she has done throughout the many years at SUHBA.”

Here at ERA Brokers we would like to thank Carol for all the hard work she has done for the SUHBA. We are glad to be apart of a great organization that does great things for our community.
